Hi, friends! Thanks for checking out my blog. I'm excited to share some memories with you from one of my favorite trips, hiking the Yellow Mountains in China.
While studying abroad in Shanghai, my friends and I decided to take a weekend trip to hike the Yellow Mountains. We took an overnight train, during which we stayed up and ate trail mix and oreos all night. The next morning, we arrived at the base of the mountain range. We took a rickety bus up a winding road and arrived at our hostel, which was located in the basement of a hotel. Call me crazy, but I kind of love traveling on a tight budget. It adds so much adventure! We paid about $8 per night, and got exactly what we paid for (you can use your imagination!) We took freezing cold showers (thank goodness I brought shower shoes) and embarked on our little adventure.
We hiked for hours, climbing up seemingly endless sets of stairs into the clouds. Pictures can't do this place justice. It was one of the most breathtaking sights I've ever seen. Lots of the bridges we crossed were filled with love locks.
The next morning we woke up at 3:00 AM, threw on our clothes and headed out into the darkness, half asleep. We made it to the outlook just in time to see the most beautiful, vibrant sunrise.
Hi! Welcome to my blog. Whether you stumbled upon this page through your friend’s friend’s Instagram or you’ve been following for a while, I’m glad you’re here. Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my life with you.
I write mostly about the places I visit and the people I meet. I love to write for the same reason I love to travel: because it teaches me a new way of seeing the world.
Other things I love: thrift shopping, sustainable fashion, big sunglasses, deep conversation, a good book, digital marketing, messy hair, planes, poetry, hot tea + long distance running.
This blog is about saying yes to the things that make you feel alive. It’s about rolling with the punches and embracing uncertainty because not everything will be smooth sailing. A life of adventure is full of challenges but I think it's worth it. Here's to saying yes to adventure, whatever that looks like for you.
Thank you so much for reading and experiencing this journey with me! :)
